WORKING EXPERIENCE
February 2006 – February 2008 : Assistant Lecturer(Chemical and Process Systems Eng Dept, Harare Institute of Technology, Harare, Zimbabwe)
ACADEMIC DUTIES : Lecturing in Heat transfer, Chemical Process Calculations, and Occupational Health and Safety in Industrial Plants. Building course outlines and preparing module notes. Administering tutorials and laboratory practicals. Day-to-day running of the academic office.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT:Executing research for the department and pilot chemical process projects.
DUTIES: Performing projects feasibility studies. Providing research assistance for
technology incubation and commodity value-addition. Industrial liaison service and industrial consultancy work.
May 2003–August 2004 : TRAINEE PROJECTS ENGINEER(Sable Chemical Industries (Pvt) Ltd, Kwekwe, Zimbabwe)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Execution of plant expansion-oriented projects: performed the feasibility study for the commercial exploration of common salt deposits in Zimbabwe. Projects to solve problems in process heat exchanger operation in the nitric acid plant: Designed a 30m2- air-cooling(heat exchanger) vessel for the Nitric acid plant. Steam auditing. Heat exchanger sizing and rating. Process stream quality assurance work. Day-to-day plant trouble-shooting work.
Has basic knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001
RESEARCH AREAS OF INTEREST:
Process Engineering, Minerals Beneficiation, Renewable Energy, Petrochemical and Biofuels, Environmental
Engineering, Industrial Economics, Essential Oils Extraction, and Traditional medicines.
