Graduation with a civil engineering degree from a recognized university.
Occupational Certification
Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia.
Experience
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Recent and significant experience in planning, design and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects focusing on water, wastewater and storm drainage projects.
Recent and significant experience managing civil engineering projects.
Recent and significant is defined as approximately within the last five years and a primary portion of your recent work history.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
(Not essential, but preference may be given to candidates who possess asset qualifications)
Experience working with First Nations communities.
Experience operating and maintaining community infrastructure systems.
Experience in design and construction of drinking water treatment systems.
Experience leading, directing and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Depth, breadth and/or type of work experience related to the position.
Other Merit Criteria and Conditions of Employment
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Reliability Status.
Possession of a valid BC Driver’s license OR personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a valid driver’s license.
Willingness to travel, including travel to remote northern locations, and by various modes of transportation (examples: small aircraft, all-terrain vehicles (ATV’s), boats, etc).
Must be able to work in remote First Nations communities for limited periods (up to 2 weeks).
CURRENT AND/OR FUTURE ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:
