Job Description
Under the direction the Plant Manager and the Corporate Regulatory Affairs, this position is responsible for the Simplot Sustainable Environmental Management System, Risk Management Program, wastewater treatment operations, air permitting and reporting, EPCRA reporting, storm water pollution prevention, spill prevention controls and countermeasures, and hazardous waste. This position is responsible for contributing to a safe work place and ensuring environmental compliance.

Essential Responsibilities: 1. Continued implementation and compliance with Simplot Environmental Management System. 2. Takes the lead role for the plant in applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations and standards. Monitors, interprets, and implements environmental requirements applicable to the facility, as well as other requirements to which the facility subscribes (corporate directives, etc.). 3. Analyze and implement permit requirements. This includes managing the wastewater treatment system and wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with the land application permit and ensuring the required reporting and recordkeeping are implemented for the air permits. 4. Prepare and submit required environmental reports (Land Application Reports, Air Permit reports, Tier II, Form R, etc.) 5. Oversight and responsibility for the Storm Water Pollution Prevention and Spill Prevention planning at the facility. 6. Coordinate RMP Program at the facility. 7. Prepare environmental permit (air, solid waste, wastewater, storm water, and water) applications. 8. Effectively communicate relevant issues to company employees at all levels.. 9. Provide professional and technical support and expertise to facility personnel, including review of capital projects for environmental impacts. 10. Communicate with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies with an ability to foster a good working relationship. 11. Assist with site assessments and coordinating the facilities responses to findings. 12. Provide support and management for capital projects that may impact environmental operations. 13. Provide environmental training to effected plant personnel. 14. Perform related tasks as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental Science.

Have at least 5 years of environmental experience.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

A strong working knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and regulations, especially air regulations.

Must be able to work professionally and effectively with regulators, special interest groups and members of the public.

Must be able to accurately define problems, collect data, interpret analytical results, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations to upper management.
